CHEMICAL LABORATORY
![]() |
The Chemical Laboratory provides capabilities for both production and environmental needs. Production support equipment provides for analysis of explosives, pyrotechnic compositions, and raw materials for moisture, composition, density, particle size analysis, compatibility test, and shelf-life testing. Environmental support consists of analyzing water, soil, and sludges for heavy metals, organics, nutrients, explosives, solids, cyanides, phenols, minerals, grease and oil, and some metals. |
METROLOGY LABORATORY
The Metrology Lab performs calibration services for all inspection equipment and gauges used at Lone Star. The calibration of standards is supported by a calibration certificate, which shows traceability to the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST). All test and measuring equipment is traceable to the NIST.
