Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) has been the operating contractor at Lone Star AAP for over fifty years, since May 1, 1951. Today, D&Z is a billion dollar conglomerate with a customer base that spans the globe.

D&Z has provided munitions-related technology, manufacturing, support and service to government and industrial clients for over half of a century.  It is one of the largest United States Army contractors and enjoys a worldwide reputation for excellence in the application of state-of-the-art technology.

LONE STAR INDUSTRIAL FACILITY  (ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT)

Lone Star is located 12 miles west of Texarkana in Northeast Texas.  It occupies 15,545 acres (over 24 square miles) and is divided into 28 separate areas.  Ten of these areas are production load lines, one is used to facilitate shipping operations, six are for storage, and the remainder contains the administrative area, maintenance shops and rail classification yard, as well as the high-explosive demolition and burning grounds.

Lone Star has over 1,000 buildings with a total of 3.27 million square feet of space and current employment stands at 400.
